About Us,

About us… when fresh on the web with ‘a’ thing we need to write something to start. So here we start, about us and our dreams and plans.

We are Peter & Juliëtte, we lived together in Castricum until autumn 2022.

 

In 2015, we bought our first motorhome and thoroughly enjoyed the small and bigger trips we took together, with and without Peter’s son Tygo.

France is the holiday country of choice for Dutch people, not too far away and yet such a completely different world from our own small country where you sometimes have to look hard to find anything of untouched nature. The same goes for us.

We soon realised that,

for both of us, the western side of the country attracted us much more than the south. We experienced the people as very friendly and helpful. The landscape also immediately won our hearts, especially toward the end of summer. The rolling countryside, is our great preference rather than serious mountains, the sea and beaches around the corner, it feels good, it has been the feeling of coming home year after year.

We have had a permanent campsite for years, where we start and end our holidays. The campsite has owners we clicked with from the first moment, it became a genuine friendship between Dutch and French. One where the differences make for good conversation, humour and respect. They watched our family grow, first when we had our daughter Novee in 2017 and later with her little brother Lenny in 2020.

 

For years, we talked about a future, where we could perhaps take over our beloved campsite, or how we could perhaps work there in another way.
These dreams did not want to fully materialize, also due to the arrival of COVID. This also got us thinking about the possibilities, because would this be feasible for us?

The summer of 2022,

like every year, we went on holiday with our motorhome, again to our beloved side of the country. During our trip, we came across an advertisement of a beautiful house that was for sale. It was on the route on our way back, so we felt we had to go and see it.

We told each other beforehand that it is never the first house that captures your heart. But we were completely wrong about that, the house and the land immediately made us fall in love, in love with the house but certainly with the possibilities we suddenly saw emerging. We couldn’t make an offer, or rather we didn’t dare. After all, we knew nothing about the possible returns on our house in Castricum.

When we returned home, we immediately tied the knot. We want to move to France, the time is now! We hired an estate agent as soon as possible, our house was still being refurbished, and it was for sale for 9 days before it was sold.

Of course, our dream house in France has been sold to other people, but that doesn’t stop us anymore.
2022 is the year we turned everything around, sold almost everything and left for a mobile home to live in.
